SUPER SPECIAL MESSAGE
February 25th, 2011:

Bonesaw.org is no longer an actively updated source for Clarkson Hockey madness. It was a ton of fun serving the fans of Clarkson Hockey for the 100 or so years that it lasted. Bonesaw.org will now serve as an archive, forever documenting the rise of the Bonesaw from 2006 - 2009. The Bonesaw is still going strong for Clarkson Hockey, but unfortunately Bonesaw.org does not have the active staff necessary to keep it updated regularly. If you think that you can get involved somehow feel free to contact us. May the saw be with you.

A New Start

As stated in previous posts, the Bonesaw Brigade is in fact being passed down to under and upperclassmen. I, among several others, will have the honor of taking control of the Bonesaw mayhem. We will continue to bring you all the latest news, scores, pictures, photos, t-shirts, and maybe even a visit from The Man himself, Macho Man Randy Savage (be patient).

As the new management is installed, so is the list of teams that Clarkson will face (and ultimately triumph) over in the 2008-2009 year. The full schedule can be found here. The 36-game season starts on the road against RIT but eventually returns to Potsdam the last weekend of October, when the Golden Knights face-off twice against the Colorado College Tigers. League play officially begins the next weekend after an exhibition match-up against Carleton University. These ECAC match-ups are highlighted by a battle with the Quinnipiac Bobcats as the student section finally learns where Bud Fisher really went after last years thrashing.

Clarkson then takes a hefty vacation away from Cheel Arena before returning home January 9th for the epic Slu(t) contest. This is only to be followed by a trip down to the Crappelton Arena for yet another battle against the Sluzers. Notable games down the stretch of the season include yet another home and home with the Sluzers and also, payback to the Colgate Raiders (this time, with a student section). The regular season and ECAC round-robin officially ends the last weekend of February before Clarkson starts its battle towards the Times Union Center, and ultimately, the MCI Center in Washington, D.C. to claim themselves National Champions.

As for the girls team, they open up their season with three games against Boston foes first weekend of October before making their season home opener against Mercyhurst College October 24th. The girls enjoy a nice 8 game home stand from November to January facing teams such as Vermont, Maine, and four different ECAC opponents. The Lady Knights face off against Slu(t) on February 4th before rounding out the season against Harvard on February 21st.

On a side note, the new writers/staff/members of the Bonesaw Brigade will be here every step of the way giving updates on scores as well as featured articles. However, we would like to thank the originators, and forever members of the Bonesaw Brigade: Jeremy, Tyler, Matt $, Kyle, AJ, as well as the entire Brigade. If it wasn’t for your shenanigans several years ago, the Bonesaw would still be caged up, waiting to unleash its power to some unworthy candidate. Here’s to you! BONESAWWW!

Over the past few years, we've seen the bonesaw go from just a gang of 3 or 4 people with cardboard cutouts of saws, to a full section of the arena, to a giant Bandsaw the size of one of the sections, to our very own Bonesaw animation on the scoreboard, to a full color picture of Bonesaw McGraw on the scoreboard, to our very own voice of Cheel Arena shouting "BONESAW!!", and finally, to the big man Tony Collins bonesawing on stage with certain graduates.

But this, my friends, will surpass all of that.

That is a picture of a frame from the video seen here.  Be sure to click the video that says "Crowd Cheers Clinton."  Then, at around 48 seconds through the video, you'll see the bonesaw unleashed upon the unsuspecting public on the bottom right.

This is truly an epic day for the Bonesaw Brigade and all of its followers.  This is the first step to the Bonesaw Party that will be featured in the 2012 election.  Macho Man, we're looking at you for our nominee.

To The Future

As some of you know, some of the core Bonesaw Brigade were seniors this past Spring semester, and most of these seniors graduated and have moved on.  Three of us on Bonesaw.org have graduated, actually.  Myself, Matt $, and Jeremy.  What does this mean for the future of Bonesaw.org?

The site is being passed on to the next of kin (or lower classmen) of the bonesaw core members.  The site will be in their hands from here on out, and when they're done with it perhaps it will be passed on again.  The fate of the site, and the saw, is ultimately up to the new core brigade.  Jeremy, Tyler,  myself, and others have worked like hell to keep this site running and up to date, and it takes a lot of dedication to make it worth your while, and I can only imagine that the next set of bonesaw.org staff will share that dedication.  (Right?)

We had a lot of support this past year, with links coming in from the Clarkson Athletic's official website, various hockey forums, and even some hits from wikipedia entries.  We were averaging more than 100 unique visitors a day during the season, and we saw big booms in traffic over home game weekends of course.  We ended up with around 24,000 unique visitors for the hockey season.  The photo album saw a good 20,000+ views, and Bonesaw shirt sales were maxed out.

The fans of the Golden Knights continue to grow in number and power as the years go on.  Stay tuned for whatever mayhem and madness happens next season.  That's it for me!  (And dont forget about Bonesaw: The Game)
